TIME TO FACE THE FACTS…

Goal: We want to defeat Obama in 2012!  We want the GOP to take the majority in the US Senate in 2012.

According to Rasmussen polls:   On major issues, 48% of voters say that the average Tea Party member is closer to their views than President Barack Obama…

A national telephone poll found that 42% of likely U.S. voters believe tea partiers get it, while 34% say the average congressman and senator isn’t clued in at all to the economic and other problems facing the country

Thirty-nine percent (39%) of likely GOP Primary voters say they are members of the Tea Party.

If you were to research these and other polls and numbers you would quickly learn the GOP can NOT win without Tea Party support! Turning the tables: the Tea Party can NOT win going rouge and NOT supporting GOP candidates! It’s a two way street folks. We are undeniably a two party system and that’s not changing, especially before the 2012 elections.

The editors of TRUNC are registered Republicans and have always been Republicans! However, we share the Tea Party over all message of: smaller government, lower taxes, less regulation, second amendment rights, standing on and protecting the Constitution, capitalism and keeping America a free Nation! Sounds a lot like the GOP platform Huh?

Congressmen Joe Heck is not exactly a “Tea Party” guy, but “Tea Party” support helped bring him to the dance in 2010. Tables turned: the GOP made sure Sharron Angle, considered to be the “Tea Party Darling” couldn’t come to the dance. Now we are stuck with Harry Reid.  AGAIN! The same Harry Reid who helped ram thru “Obama Care”, the same Harry Reid who wants to raise taxes, the same Harry Reid that voted for the bailouts and stimulus, the same Harry Reid who is trying to pass the “Dream Act” and the same Harry Reid who wouldn’t even let the Republican bills on the debt ceiling be debated, the same Harry Reid who called his political opponents “evil mongers” and claimed our Military had LOST the war!

We can’t help but ask how could any GOP believe this was the right thing to do? If we had elected Sharron Angle of Nevada, Dino Rossi of Washington, Ken Buck of Colorado, or Christine O’Donnell of Delaware…all considered “tea party picks” Guess What? The GOP would now be in control the US Senate…Obama Care would have already been repealed! Congress would not be floating the idea of more bailouts, the death tax would already be eliminated, regulations would have already been scaled back, taxes lowered and America would be back to work. The EPA would be knocked down a peg or two and the budget would be balanced…on an on.

Instead we have infighting between two groups that “TOGETHER” have the ability to make these things happen. If we focus on the basic issues we agree on we will prevail in 2012.

The Democrats have no problem doing this, they want Obama Care more than anything and they don’t care who they put in office as long as it gives them the numbers to claim the majority which really means control.

Both Republicans and Tea Partiers better figure this out in time for 2012. We need each other…we need the majority! Insulting each other with names like “hobbits” or “rhinos” won’t get us to a majority (control) in 2012.  If you don’t buy this…welcome to “Obama Care”…no need to sign up, the government will do it for you!

After the primaries all GOP and conservative Tea Party voters MUST support the (R) in all races! If we don’t do this we will wake up on November 3rd, 2012 watching groups of Democrats celebrating the re-election of Barack Hussein Obama and a Democratic controlled US Senate on TV…AGAIN!

Put Action to your Passion!

Have you ever just felt “led” to do something? You just know that you are supposed to be doing what it is you are doing “for such a time as this”? Laurel Fee and I, who are the founders of T.R.U.N.C., feel this way.  Some say that when you have confidence in the direction you are going, it is God-inspired; some say that it is just an inner knowledge; some say it is because of decisions and circumstances in your life. Personally I believe it is all of the above.

A dream or vision can start in different ways, but it is fueled by passion…an “inspired resolve.” The Tea Party movement is just that! Ordinary Americans who have awakened to the reality that their precious country is changing into something unrecognizable. The majority of hard working Americans have for so long kept to the grindstone, so to speak ,while working, raising families, and going about their everyday lives, while unbeknownst to them a minority have methodically been changing our America into what they have planned for a very long time.   Time and a progressive agenda is what got us where we find ourselves as a nation today, and time, a willingness to get involved, plus holding our elected to the fire on issues and constitutional law is how we are going to get ourselves out of this mess!

Not very long ago the “silent majority” finally woke up. Some say too late, but hope never dies, and we as Americans know that hard work always pays off.  The passion to make a difference moves into determination, being full of resolve, and an undeterred, driven motivation to do what needs to be done.

The key to making the changes and redirection of our country is work, involvement, awareness, and an undying commitment to never give up. Knowledge is power. In order to understand what (and who) you are up against, you study your opposition, you educate yourself, you stay informed, you take action when needed and you never tire.

Inspired determination gives you stamina to keep going and not give up. Have we as a grass-roots movement made mistakes? Yes, and we learn from those mistakes and challenges to go forward. If we take the life lessons and move forward with them, then we are advancing toward the ultimate goal.

In looking at the Tea Party movement, it is clear to see what the goals are that unite us: freedoms protected by our Constitution, limited government, and fiscal responsibility by our elected officials. What makes our opposition (and trust me it grows everyday that we stand up to make a difference) so frustrated is that “they” can’t identify a person or a group to go after. “They” shake their heads in unbelief and bewilderment at our core values and goals. “They” try to demonize us as a whole and try to negate any power that the Tea Party Movement has, or will have. “They” look at us conservative Americans as “uninformed,” “uneducated,” and “unenlightened.” So be it. The liberal progressives, as well as the “wishy-washy, go-along-to-get-along moderates” will never understand us and vice versa.

One thing is clear; “they” are determined, motivated, passionate, and willing to work.

My question to you is….Are you?

Take a hard look at what you are willing to settle for, live with, and pass on to your children, grandchildren, and their children. I, for one, am absolutely going to go to my grave doing what I can to make a difference. My son, my daughter, my grandsons, and my future grandchildren are my motivation.  And yes, I believe my inspiration and vision is God-given, and I’m not afraid to say it.

My personal motto is “If it is going to be, it is up to me.”….What is your motto? Write it down, have it visible to you every day, figure out where you want to get involved (what group or organization do you want to join) and “Just do it.”

No excuses, No putting it off! It’s time to put action to your passion!

May 17th edition of TRUNC....
Editorial by Laurel Fee:

As we gear up for the Nevada CD2 “special election”, there is an irony that just can’t be ignored.

The Republican Party will need the cooperation of all, especially the Tea Party, to win and hold CD2 in

a “free for all” election. Now that the Tea Party movement has grown strong enough to have a bigger voice,

the Republican Party would be wise to include these folks this time around. We are all extremely aware of why

Harry Reid remains in the U.S. Senate! When the conservative movement here in Nevada overwhelmingly chose

Sharron Angle in the Republican primary; the Republican Party “establishment” set out to stop her from winning.  As you know, there were several good candidates, all of whom would have been better then Harry Reid.

But, the fact is, Sharron Angle won the Republican primary! What happened next was and still is, unforgivable!

Instead of the Republican Party getting behind the Republican Sharron Angle, who was the Tea Party pick, Bill Raggio, A Republican (?) set out to make sure Nevada sent Reid back to Washington. Of course, after the election, the Legislature put on a show for the public and promptly ousted the traitor. But as the Tea Party was still wiping the spit off their faces from Raggio and his group, the Nevada Legislature invited Raggio back to honor his service to Nevada, further insulting Nevada conservatives. There continues to be a split in the Nevada Republican Party and in reality, all across the country. A split, which, if it continues, will ensure Nevada, turns “Blue” in 2012. And while the conservatives,  Tea Partiers, Constitutionalists, or whatever name you give them, acknowledges that the Republican Party now needs them to get behind “THE ONE “ to prevail in CD2, pay back, just might be in order. After all, the U.S. congress enjoys an overwhelmingly Republican majority. As such, if a Democrat were to finish Heller’s term; so what? In 2012, a Republican will challenge, provided the “Bill Raggio’s” learned from their mistakes, a Republican will again take the seat. Is this a gamble the Tea Party movement is willing to bet on? Not sure! But the talk seems to be… they just might! The Republican Party’s

recent lawsuit against Secretary of State Ross Miller proves the Republican Party understands the dilemma and is working  hard to control the situation. The suit is yet another attempt to let a small group dictate who will represent Nevada. Understandable move, because if they are able to put forth one candidate on the ballot, a Republican wins! However, several candidates would no doubt split the Republican vote giving the Democrat candidate an advantage. And now the Republican Party is pleading for all, yes even the “Tea Party kooks”, to get behind the one candidate the elites will have horse-traded and handpicked. Of course the problem is that this kind of politics is exactly what gives the Tea Party their passion. To rid the system of the “Good Ole Boy” group is extremely appealing to the Tea Party activists. The fact that Republican, dinosaur elites openly worked against the Tea Party and the candidate they brought to the general election in 2010, in favor of Harry Reid,

may now bite them in the butt! They owe it all to Bill Raggio (R?) and the group of 400 Republicans who campaigned against Sharron Angle. As the saying goes “...what goes around, comes around”! This irony has to make at least some “Tea Partiers” chuckle, as the shoe is now on the other foot! So, as we ponder the Nevada “CD2 special election” and how it can be manipulated by all sides, let us keep our eye on the prize. If Tea Partiers can get past the 2010 sabotage by the very Republican Party that now needs their cooperation, a Republican will be victorious in the special election. A strong party is only achieved with mutual respect for the party members

and can never be achieved by a select few! Yes, we need a strong party, but how that Party is built, will determine its strength.

April 15th Special Tax Day Tea Party edition
Editorial by Jeri Taylor-Swade:

Have you ever known someone that owns a successful business and to all outside eyes (including the business owner), it appears that everything is in order, moving forward, sailing along making money etc., only to suddenly have everything come to a screeching halt when the business owner finds out that one of the hired, trusted employees has embezzled and stolen everything?
I have knowledge of this happening to personal friends & acquaintances through the years. It is heart wrenching!
The scenarios are a little different, but the outcome is the same…Collapse of the business, total bewilderment on the part of the owner, and financial ruin.
I don’t know about you but I see the same thing happening to our precious America.
While “We” the majority of Americans (the business owner) are working, living, and enjoying the fruits of our labor (blindly I might add!), the power hungry, money driven, liberal leaning, socialist believing majority in government are stealing our prosperity.
This in not a partisan issue. This is a core belief issue! (On both sides of the aisle)
I for one do not want to wake up one morning to our nation in collapse…Financial collapse, moral collapse, and our freedoms collapsed.
As with the oblivious business owner, we as the conservative majority of Americans better wake up, take the blinders off and hire employees i.e. our elected officials, that have moral integrity, a strong resolve who refuse to be swayed from political pressure… Elected officials that have the same core principles and love of country as you do, or we will find ourselves in the identical terrible state of despair as the business owner.
Embezzling only happens when there is blind trust, secrets, no checks and balances in place, unlimited access to funds, and an unwillingness to take the time to investigate. Owners must question daily their business operations and their finances.
As with the unfortunate, trusting business owner, let’s not, as a nation, find ourselves in the same predicament.
It’s up to you and it is up to me. There is NO one else!
Determine to keep our “elected” accountable.
Choose to walk with your eyes open….
A blind man can not see the danger that is ahead.
Embezzlement of America? ... NOT on our watch!

Editorial in the Inaguaral Edition of TRUNC
by Jeri Taylor-Swade & Laurel Fee

 CHIEF’S AND INDIANS

As we move towards the 2012 election it will benefit all us to take a close look at where we have been, where we are and where we are going

In 2008  Obama Mania and the organization of the Democratic Party in Nevada proved  superior to that of John McCain and the organization of the Republican Party here in Nevada and the rest of the nation.

However, leading up to the 2010 general election, the emergence of the Tea Party and conservative activism, we made a big dent nationally in having a seat at the table. It is essential that we work together leading up to the 2012 elections if we are to secure and add more seats. Recognizing the fact that we are a two party system we must work within the party structure if we are to achieve that goal. Together we must work to strengthen and organize the Republican Party in Nevada to reflect our conservative beliefs.

Here in Clark County there are many established political groups that work for the benefit of the Republican Party. Since the 2010 election we have added even more groups whose desire is to carry the Republican platform especially in conservatism and its constitutional foundation to a majority in congress.

In that respect we are blessed to have these groups who can and will play an important role over the next two years and beyond. The problem with so many groups is they are mainly started and run by type A personalities but without type A personalities we most likely would not have any groups. As we all have probably heard of the different personality groups, type A personalities tend to be described as   “Ambitious, aggressive, business-like, controlling, highly competitive, impatient, preoccupied with his or her status, time-conscious, and tightly-wound. People with Type A personalities are often high-achieving "workaholics" who multi-task, push themselves with deadlines, and hate both delays and ambivalence.” For the purpose of the message today we will refer to these people as the “CHIEF”S”

People with Type B personalities are “generally patient, relaxed, easy-going, and at times lacking an overriding sense of urgency but will methodically work at a given task.”  For the purpose of the message today we will refer to these people as the “INDIANS”

Strongly believing we must work within the party system we would like to present an example:

All these groups and the many others provide an essential part in our efforts as a whole and we think it’s safe to assume the people who have started the different groups are type A personalities. But without type B personalities- i.e.; the group’s members, the groups would no doubt cease to exist. This is the point we want to stress today.

If we are to be successful in building the Republican Party in Nevada we must designate a “Chief to implement a master plan. We see the CCRP as that “Chief” in Southern Nevada. The CCRP will need and must have hundreds and hundreds of Indians to effectively organize the Republican Party and get things done.

 For Example:

The Boulder City Republican Women’s group is known for organizing the “elephant walk” where they pick a date and walk the entire Boulder City handing out candidate literature. It would be incredible if they would reach out, and train other group leaders.  All groups could then pick the same date and hold a giant Clark County wide Elephant Walk. This one day event would require a tremendous amount of planning with all the groups working in harmony to achieve covering Clark County in its entirety in one day! The Boulder City Republican Women’s Group should be the “Chief” on this project since they have the knowledge and experience to do the job.

This is only small example of what we can achieve if we work together. Each group would retain their own Identity and do whatever else the group normally does satisfying the type A personalities. Yet sign on to accomplishing one of the goals of the CCRP master plan. For anything to succeed we must have a master plan with a shared goal. Without this master plan we will not effectively organize the Republican Party in Southern Nevada. Each group working only as Chiefs on their own interest will accomplish small goals but working in this way will insure the Republican Party remains unorganized and ineffective and broke in 2012. Because of the two party system that is in place, we must use the party to achieve our goals.

How do we achieve this with so many groups? It’s hard to know what groups even exist and what each of those groups do. With all the uncertainty it is hard for people to really become involved especially new people who have never done any political activism.

To that end we would like to introduce TRUNC = Tea Party & Republicans Uniting Nevada Conservatives. TRUNC will be a periodical that highlights the Republican, Tea Party and Conservative groups in Clark County & Nevada listing all the groups with their mission statements. Groups will also be able to submit photos, post announcements, post events and provide contact information.  The editors of T.R.U.N.C. will be available to attend meetings, luncheons and events in an effort to personally highlight your group and what your group does in TRUNC.

Two fold purpose: It will help people get involved in the area of their personal interest enabling groups to grow their memberships and achieve their group’s mission. At the same time the different groups can pick an area of interest and agree to be “Indians” on a variety of CCRP targeted projects with CCRP being the “Chief” to implement the master plan of organizing and growing the Republican Party in time for the 2012 election. CCRP needs your help and T.R.U.N.C. wants to help link all groups and CCRP for our shared goal of electing Republicans in 2012 and beyond.
